Most adults walk in with the same questions. Am I too out of shape? Too old? Will I get hurt?
Our answer is the same philosophy we coach the kids with: technical Jiu-Jitsu built on how well you move. Balance, timing, and body control make technique work, and they are what let you keep training for years.
Brian Yi is a 3rd-degree black belt under coral belt Marcelo Alonso, in the Carlson Gracie lineage, with more than 20 years of Jiu-Jitsu. He is also a Certified Athletic Development Specialist, which shapes how every class is built.
“Brian balances beginners with advanced students seamlessly. I have a huge respect for both his Jiu Jitsu and his ability to teach.”
Connor Schaars, Adult Student
Training with your kids? Youth classes run earlier the same evenings. See the kids program →
Women: we also run a women-only class, Tuesday–Thursday at 8:30 AM.
Am I too old or out of shape to start?
No. You do not need to be in shape to start. Training is how you get there, and the work is scaled to where you are.
Will I get hurt?
Jiu-Jitsu is a contact sport, so no one can promise zero risk. What we control: technique before intensity, supervised live rounds, and training partners who work with care.
Do I have to compete?
No. Competition is optional. Most adults train for the skill, the fitness, and the problem-solving.
Is there a long-term contract?
No. Memberships are month-to-month.
